FROM Grey TO Green

From Urban Stillness to Urban Breath

The exhibition From Grey to Green emerged from the need to reimagine urban space — not as a field of limitation, but as a site of coexistence, flow, and life. Greenery, once a marginal element among buildings, becomes the protagonist here: a reminder that nature has not disappeared, but awaits our willingness to allow its return.

This exhibition seeks to highlight the significance of green spaces within urban environments and to raise awareness within the academic community and the broader public regarding environmental responsibility and sustainable development. Through the medium of photography, we explore ways to reframe and redefine our relationship with the city and the natural world.

From Grey to Green is not merely a title — it is an invitation.
An invitation to shift perspective: first individually, then collectively. To reconsider the tree, the park, the fragment of sky between apartment buildings not as exceptions, but as possibilities. The photographs function as traces of this transition, bearing witness to a change that may begin with an individual gesture and evolve into a shared vision.

The exhibition is grounded in that moment of unexpected transition — when an act of personal imagination transforms into collective experience. The works extend beyond walls and frames; they address the viewer directly. Through photography, performances, theatrical interventions, readings, academic discussions, and musical events, a space for open dialogue is created — a shared breath between artwork and audience.

Here, “green” is not merely a color, but a state of mind — a proposition to rethink space, community, and the way we inhabit the city.

If art can change anything, it is because it reminds us that change always begins with a gaze — with the moment someone chooses to see differently.

From grey to green, then:
a transition that begins within us.
